May 2024

As we move into the Summer season, Crossroads Clinic is entering a new season as well. Since the overturn of Roe V. Wade in June of 2022, Oklahoma
has been one of several states enacting an abortion ban. However, women are still facing unplanned pregnancies in Oklahoma and are obtaining abortions despite the regulation.

Due the proliferation of websites offering abortion pills, the abortion-determined woman is finding it easier than ever to terminate their pregnancy. When it was legal
in our state, a woman would be required to see a doctor for an ultrasound prior to being prescribed the abortion pills. The doctor would also administer the first set of pills and require a follow up exam. Many of these pills marketed online do not require these same safety measures, nor do they offer any support.

We believe this ease of access combined with low cost and zero regulation have had a significant negative impact on the number of women coming through our doors. Told that the abortion pills are as safe as taking Tylenol, women no longer see the value in an ultrasound prior to terminating their pregnancy. Please join
us in praying for how to best reach these women before they follow through with acquiring and taking these abortion drugs.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” ~ 2 Chronicles 7:14
